Real Madrid, needing to bounce back from two home defeats when they take on Osasuna on Saturday in the 13th round of La Liga matches, lost two of their Brazilian players, striker Rodrygo and defender Eder Militao, to injury in the first half.

Rodrygo, who was making his comeback after injuring his right femoral bicep against Dortmund on October 22, left the pitch in tears after 20 minutes, apparently suffering a relapse. His compatriot Eder Militao was evacuated on a stretcher after collapsing in the box in the 26th minute, apparently with a right knee injury. In August 2023, Militao tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the first La Liga match of the season against Athletic Bilbao. The injury sidelined him for eight months.

Spanish right-back Lucas Vazquez was also affected, but returned to the game after having a strapper applied. Another Brazilian player, Vinicius, opened the scoring for Madrid on Saturday in the 34th minute. Englishman Jude Bellingham doubled the lead in the 42nd minute, his first goal of the season.
