Repair, restoration, trade-in, sale… The two Richemont group companies have joined forces to offer enthusiasts the widest possible range of second-hand watchmaking services.
House after house is introducing Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) watches. After Cartier and Jaeger LeCoultre, it’s now Vacheron Constantin’s turn within the Richemont Group. But in its own way, and in collaboration with the Watchfinder website and boutiques, members of the same luxury group.
In itself, there’s nothing more enduring than a watch, built to last through the decades and centuries with little or no downtime. The brand founded in 1755 therefore takes this logic to its logical conclusion: all watches produced by the company since its foundation can, as a matter of principle, be restored. To this end, the brand’s Restoration department has at its disposal original components, old tools and machines, craftsmanship and manufacturing know-how. Not forgetting the archives, registers, sketches and other technical drawings needed to repair or restore timepieces that are one or even several centuries old.
In addition, the brand’s new timepieces are now offered with an extended warranty of up to 8 years. Offered as part of the new in-house second-hand program, watches certified and approved as part of this Les Collectionneurs offer also come with an international warranty of at least two years. During this period, Vacheron Constantin will repair or replace free of charge any part deemed defective. In addition, a blockchain-based digital passport containing key information about the watch is issued, together with an official physical CPO warranty letter certifying that the watch has been functionally checked and serviced accordingly. These watches, delivered in a dedicated pouch, will also bear a seal guaranteeing that they have been sold under the brand’s CPO program.
Initially, these Vacheron Constantin watches will be offered in the brand’s boutiques and via Watchfinder. With Watchfinder, enthusiasts will also be able to exchange their old watch for a sum that can be used to purchase a new Vacheron Constantin timepiece. To do so, simply return the watch you wish to part with to a Vacheron Constantin boutique, after which Watchfinder will send you a quote for the part’s trade-in.
