Paris SG has lodged a request to evoke its financial dispute with Kylian Mbappé. Kylian Mbappé The French Football Federation (FFF) has decided to bring Kylian Mbappé before its executive committee, following decisions in his favour by the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP).AFP from a source close to the case.
Referred to by the striker, who is claiming 55 million euros in unpaid wages and other bonuses from the capital club, the LFP’s legal committee recommended mediation in September. However, in the face of the player’s refusal, it decided to ask PSG to pay the sum within a week.
PSG then appealedThe appeal, which was examined in mid-October, confirmed the first decision, ordering the club to pay the 55 million euros, which PSG immediately refused to do.
An appeal “in principle” and “currently being processed”.
Prior to Kylian Mbappé’s potential appeal to the Conseil des Prud’hommes, PSG had two final recourses before the soccer authorities: a request for the dispute to be evoked before the FFF executive committee, followed by an appeal to an administrative court with a view to conciliation before the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF).
The application to the FFF was submitted last week. It “is currently being processed.and could potentially be refused, said the above-mentioned source. A source close to the club’s management had recently explained to theAFP that PSG would use these recourses “as a matter of principle”instead expecting the case to go before the industrial tribunal in a lengthy procedure.
The dispute has its origins in the status of an agreement reached in August 2023 between the striker and the club’s management. At the time, the French national team captain was sidelined for refusing to extend his contract with PSG. This extension would have guaranteed the club a transfer fee, whereas Mbappé finally signed a free contract with Real Madrid this summer.
In this agreement, the player agreed to forgo 55 million in various bonuses if he were to leave free at the end of the season. However, the validity of this agreement, which Mbappé himself spoke about publicly to journalists in January, is disputed by the star’s camp.
