The booming Advent calendar business (for adults)

To celebrate the magic of Christmas, and build customer loyalty, beauty brands are offering their skincare products, candles, perfumes and make-up in miniature, limited-edition boxes. A real hit!

Ning Li, founder of the French minimalist skincare brand Typology is still amazed: ” When we launched our first Advent calendar two years ago, it sold out in less than 24 hours. hours. So last year we produced ten times as many and, likewise, they were gone in a matter of days. We really weren’t expecting this, because while the format is attractive, the price is substantial. this year, it costs 179 euros… but for a real product value of 369 euros. If our customers love it, it’s mainly because we don’t just offer miniatures like most beauty brands, but at least fifteen classic sizes. To distinguish himself from the often highly decorated and glittering calendars of his competitors, the young entrepreneur even asked designer Erwan Bouroullec, known for his minimalist work, to imagine a relief work for this 2024 “Advent”.
