JVLIVS, SCH’s mythical character
SCH has released JVLIVS : Tome 1 – Absolute in 2018, followed by JVLIVS II in 2021. Last April, he offered his fans the antepisode of this album series with JVLIVS Prequel : Giulio. In these different discs – released three years apart and completely independent of his other creations such as A7 (2015), Anarchy (2016), Deo Favente (2017) or Rooftop (2019) – Julien Schwarzer tells the story of a Marseilles mafiosowith his dark and violent daily life. A character imagined by the artist, staged through a narrative and imagery worthy of the seventh art.
In JVLIVS III: Ad Finemhe will put an end to the story he has been telling for six years. The various album covers show the character lying in a red fountain, his body covered in blood. He appears to have been shot in the shoulder, a reference to one of the last songs on JVLIVS II, Black Wolf, in which he concludes his performance with this sentence: ” Before a bullet stops us “.

” This is the intro, I haven’t started the text “The video ends with a tight shot of JVLIVS, seated comfortably at the end of a table, facing a young man with a face like that of a young woman. Indirect target of a shooting?
JVLIVS III : Ad Finem appears as the Marseilles rapper’s team was targeted by Kalashnikov fire in La Grande-Motte on August 26, a few hundred meters from the discotheque La Dune Club, where SCH had just performed. The artist had returned to his hotel room before the attack, which took place at around 6am. A close friend of the rapper, who was shot twice in the chest, succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle was seriously injured. In September, the extortion attempt orchestrated by the Marseille-based DZ Mafia clan is preferred by investigators. Clearly shocked by this tragedy, SCH decided tocancel his appearance at the Delta Festival de Marseille as well asat Francofolies de la Réunion on September 4 and 6.
He returned to the stage some ten days later, on September 13, at the Fête de l’Humanité in Brétigny-sur-Orge. On his Instagram account, he justified his choice to go out JVLIVS III : Ad finem : “ We decided to maintain the release of JVLIVS III with the universe we’d been thinking about for the last two and a half years, because it was important to us. “. The Marseilles rapper will soon be kicking off his stadium tour, the JVLIVS Tour 2024, with a first date on December 6 at the Zénith Europe in Strasbourg. He will be at the Accor Arena in Paris on December 9 and 10.
