LE FIGARO – How do you feel about attending the AMF congress?
Catherine VAUTRIN With humility and gratitude for our 500,000 elected representatives who commit themselves to our communes. Since 2020, 2,400 mayors have resigned and 57,000 municipal council seats are vacant. I’m well aware of the personal commitment required by these mandates, which is not always recognized by our fellow citizens. That’s why the Prime Minister has asked me to resume consideration of the proposed law on the status of elected representatives in January. Introduced by Françoise Gatel, it has already been unanimously approved by the Senate.
