Third best start of the year for a French film, L’amour Ouf continues to win over more and more viewers.
L’Amour ouf from Gilles Lellouche continues to seduce. The French film of the moment has attracted over three million viewers three weeks after its theatrical release, according to weekly figures published Wednesday by CBO Box-Office. The romantic adventure with François Civil and Adèle Exarchopoulos topped the French box-office with 864,877 spectators from October 30 to November 5.
In L’amour oufJackie (Adèle Exarchopoulos), the daughter of a good family, meets Clotaire (François Civil), the delinquent son of a factory worker. Set in 1980s Lille, the film tells the romantic story of a love that defies time.
Gilles Lellouche’s new film retains top spot at French box office for the 3rd consecutive yearth consecutive week. This is the third best start of the year for a French film, behind only Vice-Versa 2 (1.9 million in its first week) and The Count of Monte Cristo (1.2 million) did better in 2024, according to AFP.

A performance that delights its star actor, François Civil, who recently celebrated the 3 million viewer milestone in a post on Instagram. “Vous êtes déjà plus de 3 millions à avoir vu L’Amour Ouf…”he reacted, visibly moved. The French actor expressed his gratitude to the public by sharing his happiness. “It would take me more than 457 words to express my joy. Thank you all.”he concluded, referring to one of the scenes in the film. A new success for Gilles Lellouche, after his previous film Le Grand Bain and its million admissions in just five days.
Another love story in theaters, that of Tom Hardy and his sharp-toothed alien in Venom: The Last Dance final opus in the trilogy Venomwhich opened in France to 736,850 admissions in 645 theaters. The biopic Monsieur Aznavour with Tahar Rahim continues to win over the crowds, attracting over a million music lovers and curious onlookers after two weeks on the big screen.
With Juror n°2 , Clint Eastwood takes fourth place in the rankings, plunging 453,813 spectators into a troubled trial, brought to life by the British actor Nicholas Hoult who slips into the role of the watered-down sprinkler. Far from being a meditation on American justice, young audiences and families remained in droves to discover the animated film The Wild Robot the latest creation from Dreamworks Studios (252,251 admissions, 1.4 million).
