Israeli fans of Maccabi Tel Aviv were attacked after the Ajax match

According to the Israeli newspaper Times of Israel, several supporters of the Maccabi Tel Aviv soccer club have reported being attacked in the streets of Amsterdam after the Israeli soccer team’s defeat by local club Ajax.

On Friday night, videos posted on social networks, filmed in the streets of Amsterdam, showed, according to the newspaper “brutal assaults by masked assailants, some carrying Palestinian flags and shouting “Free Palestine!”

A number of Israeli supporters were reportedly injured.

According to Reuters news agency, Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu’s office said overnight that it was aware of the incident, and rushed two aircraft to the scene to assist his fellow citizens.
