L’Australia will set the age at which minors can access social networks at 16, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said on Thursday November 7, pledging to crack down on technology companies that fail to protect young users.
“It’s (a measure) for moms and dads. Social networks do a lot of harm to children and I’ve decided to put a stop to it.”he told journalists. Albanese had announced future legislation in September, but it had not been decided at the time whether it would apply. from the age of 14 or 16.
