On Wednesday, the French Supreme Court of Appeal partially overturned Papa Massata Diack’s conviction for bribery and complicity in bribery in the Russian athlete doping case.

On Wednesday, the French Supreme Court of Appeal partially overturned the conviction of Papa Massata Diack, the son of the former head of world athletics and former marketing consultant to the International Athletics Federation, who had been sentenced to five years in prison for corruption and complicity in corruption in the 2011 Russian athlete doping case.

The court therefore referred the case – a scandal that shook the world of sport – back to the Paris Court of Appeal, where Papa Massata Diack will once again stand trial for complicity in passive corruption.
