The 20-year-old Italian suspect in the shooting was arrested by Marseille’s North Anti-Crime Brigade, at the request of the judicial police, in the Bricarde district, a stronghold of drug trafficking. He has been taken into custody, we are told.
At around 02:55 on Friday, a hooded man dressed in black fired several shots in the direction of the queue at Le Seven, a nightclub in Saint-Péray (Ardèche), where some 800 people, many also dressed in black, were attending a Halloween party. Nicolas, aged 22, suffered head injuries and was rushed to hospital in Valence, where he was given a life-threatening prognosis, before dying of his injuries on Saturday. A customer and a security guard, who were also in the queue, suffered more minor injuries to their legs.

According to a security guard’s account to investigators, the shooter arrived on foot, in “walking calmly with his hands in his pockets, before pulling out a handgun, apparently a small model” and fired his first shot some forty metres from the queue. Several witnesses report a total of four or five shots. A projectile of 9 mm calibre was found inside a Golf vehicle parked in the discotheque parking lot, having shattered the car window, according to a statement from the Privas public prosecutor’s office.
A white march will be organized on Wednesday in Romans-sur-Isère, by the Rugby Club Romans-Péage (RCRP). The march will set off from the Place Paulin Pailherey at 3pm to reach the Stade Donnadieu.
