The French Basketball Federation has announced the withdrawal of several players for the qualifiers for the next Euro 2025 in Italy, Greece, the Czech Republic and Germany.
Marine JohannèsIliana Rupert and Carla Leite have withdrawn from the French team’s Euro-2025 qualifying window from Thursday to Sunday, the French Basketball Federation announced on Monday. The two players from Mersin (Turkey) and Leite (Villeneuve-d’Ascq) have been replaced by first-time call-ups Camille Droguet and Jess-Mine Zodia, who play for Tarbes. These absences are in addition to that of Marine Fauthoux (Mersin), excused for “compelling personal reasons”.
Olympic runners-up Les Bleues face Israel in Caen on Thursday (9.10pm), followed by Latvia in Riga on Sunday (6.10pm). After winning their first two qualifying matches, they would virtually clinch their ticket to the Euro (June 18-29 in Greece, Germany, Italy and the Czech Republic) with two further victories.
