Zverev new runner-up to Sinner, Humbert 14th in ATP rankings

The German’s victory at Bercy and the Frenchman’s place in the final had repercussions on the rankings on Monday.

Germany’s Alexander Zverev has taken second place, at the expense of Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz, in the ATP rankings published on Monday and still dominated by Italy’s Janik Sinner. Zverev, who won his seventh Masters 1000 title in Paris on Sunday, first reached the runner-up spot in June 2022, but a serious ankle injury sustained at Roland Garros forced him to withdraw for the rest of the season.

Norway’s Casper Ruud, 7th (+1), and Australia’s Alex de Minaur, 8th (+2), replaced Russia’s Andrey Rublev, 9th (-2), and Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov, 10th (-1). Denmark’s Holger Rune, 11th, supplanted Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas, 12th, and American Tommy Paul, 13th.
