Greenwood found
His horrible performance had perfectly symbolized the nightmare evening experienced by l’OM against PSG last weekend (0-3). Kept on the right wing, Mason Greenwood rectified the situation with a fine performance at La Beaujoire. A constant threat to Cozza, the English winger finally set his side free in the second half, by scoring Marseille’s winning goal (1-2). with a well-placed low shot. His seventh goal in ten league matches. Greenwood was eagerly awaited and responded perfectly.
Rowe, the other detonator
OM had wings on Sunday. On the left, Jonathan Rowe clearly made his mark. Preferred to Luis Henrique at kick-off, the 21-year-old English winger quickly rose to power in an area where he provoked a lot. He didn’t get everything right, but his incessant activity hurt the Canaries enormously. The former Norwich City player is also credited with a fine assist for Maupay’s opening goal.

Rulli flawless
A fine save from Kadewere (35th) then a header from Mohamed (64th). Geronimo Rulli was not often called upon by Nantes’ forwards, but the Marseille keeper did his job. As is often the case this season. His anticipation, both in the air and outside the box, relieved a feverish Marseille defence, particularly in the second half. He was not to blame for the Canaries’ equaliser.
FLOPS
Kondogbia in pain
It’s true that OM’s ability to get back into the game cleanly does them a world of good. But once again, Geoffrey Kondogbia showed his defensive limitations. The former Monegasque, once again paired with Balerdi in central huddle, could have cost the Phocaean club dearly, with two failed interventions that Kadewere failed to capitalize on (35th, 66th). Often on the edge, and a complete spectator to Nantes’ equaliser at the end of the first half. Replaced at the end of the match in midfield, in a role that suits him much better.
Mohamed too scrappy
A lot of energy, but a glaring lack of skill. After almost scoring an unfortunate CSC from a corner in the first half (29th), Mostafa Mohamed failed to take advantage of Marseille’s defensive laxity in the second half. The Egyptian striker first wasted a huge counter-attacking situation (52nd), before coming up against Rulli from close range (64th), in the wake of Greenwood’s goal. His second goal of the season is still a long way off.
