On Wednesday in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Céline Dion was the star of the evening celebrating the 45th anniversary of the Elie Saab fashion house, performing two of her songs.
Three months after her iconic performance from the second floor of the Eiffel Tower, which marked her return to the stage after years of absence for health reasons, Céline Dion performed in Riyadh on Wednesday November 13 to close the Elie Saab fashion show. Accompanied by her eldest son René-Charles, the singer covered two cult songs from her repertoire.
The Quebec diva appeared on the catwalk to sing her hits. The Power of Love and I’m Alive. Around her, models presented the Lebanese designer’s outfits. For the 45th anniversary of his fashion house, the Lebanese designer concocted a show on the theme of “Elie Saab’s 1001 Seasons”, in reference to the Arabian storybook of the A Thousand and One Nights. Three hundred outfits were created especially for this anniversary show. Other artists performing during the show included Jennifer Lopez and Camila Cabello. A few minutes before her performance, the singer walked the red carpet in a long pink sequined gown printed with flowers.
Céline Dion revealed that she would be suffering from stiff-man’s disease in December 2022. After a two-year media retreat, she resurfaced in February 2024, on stage at the Grammy Awards to present Taylor Swift with the award for Album of the Year. After her spectacular cover of Ode to Love Edith Piaf’s “Hymne à l’amour” at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, every appearance by the singer now creates a stir. But the diva has not yet announced any new musical project.
