French rock band Indochine announced on Instagram on Tuesday that they would be paying tribute to the deceased loved ones of their fans. The photos will form a slideshow that will be shown during the live performance of the song Annabelle Lee.
Sincere tribute or misplaced staging? The French pop-rock band has announced that its song Annabelle Lee will be illustrated by photos of deceased people, sent in advance by fans to an e-mail address. The title, taken from Indochine’s latest album, Babel Babel released last September, openly evokes death.
“ You have lost someone close to you (relative, friend…) and would like to pay tribute to them. We’d also like to spare a thought for them on our tour. “explains the group on their social networks. The press release specifies that the photos sent must only show the deceased. The photos will then be shown on the band’s tour, during the performance of the song Annabelle Lee.
In an interview with the newspaper Ouest France newspaper singer Nicola Sirkis explains the message behind the song, inspired by an Edgar Poe poem: “ At our age, we’re all confronted with the disappearance of our parents, and people around us start to get really sick. We realize that this life isn’t eternal, whereas for a long time, with rock, we’ve been in a kind of bath, like eternal teenagers. ” Indochine’s latest electro-reggae and symphonic album celebrates a reunion with British sound engineer Mark “Spike” Stent, now renowned for his work with BeyoncĂ©, Madonna and Coldplay.
With their Arena Tour, Indochine will be on stage 34 times across France from January 31, 2025. The group will make stops in all the major cities of France, including Brussels on April 5 and Lausanne on May 16, finishing at the Accor Arena in Paris on June 20 and 21.
