“It’s not shameful to say we’re playing for survival,” admits Morgan Parra (Stade Français)

The Parisian club’s assistant coach spoke out after his team suffered another heavy defeat away to La Rochelle on Saturday evening.

Morgan Parra (assistant coach Stade Français, beaten by La Rochelle 35-18) : “There’s some frustration after our first half. We held them, we put them at fault, but maybe we didn’t concretize enough. At half-time, we looked good, but in the second half, we just didn’t get going. We just couldn’t get going away from home. We’re looking for explanations. (…) The players are psychologically scarred, it’s hard. The guys need to take a breather and clear their heads over the break. I hope we’ll find a new momentum. We’re not ashamed to say we’re playing for survival. But first we have to get out of this zone (13th), then take it step by step. We need points, even if we’re not in danger. We don’t have the knife to our throat. The truth now may not be the truth of the second block (of matches). Injured players are going to come back and give us something extra.”
