Benjamin Bonzi wins his first Metz title

Benjamin Bonzi won his first ATP title in Metz on Saturday. The Frenchman beat Britain’s Cameron Norrie 7-6 6-4 in the final.

The Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi won the very first title of his career on the ATP circuit on Saturday against British qualifier Cameron Norrie in the final of the ATP 250 tournament in Metz. With a convincing 7-6 (8/6), 6-4 victory over the world No. 57, Benjamin Bonzi is on his way back into the top 100.

Earlier in the week, the 124th-ranked player had eliminated Norwegian Casper Ruud, world No.7, his first victory over a member of the Top 10, followed by his compatriot Quentin Halys and American Alex Michelsen, ranked 44th. The former world No.42 had lost his first two ATP 250 finals, in Marseille and Pune in 2023.
