Donald Trump is back in the White House, washed of his 2020 defeat. A feat that only one of his predecessors had ever achieved. The victory is clear, it’s cleanwith at least 301 electors when he needed 270, and an advantage in the popular vote that the Republican Party hasn’t had in 20 years. There’s no need to see this as another fault of the pollsters, who failed to see the Trumpist wave rising, as was indeed the case in 2016 or 2020. This time, the figures may have wrongly promised a very close election, but Trump’s score is well within the margin of error, including in the swing states, which should all fall in his lap (he is the favorite in Arizona, where the count is still in progress).
