The Swallow Theatre

Raising the Roof: An Evening of Dom’s Best Bits

Actor and director Dominic Goodwin has been coming to The Swallow Theatre for very many years and calls it his ‘second home’.  He has worked with many local amateur performers who over time have volunteered to, or been coerced to, tread the boards on our tiny stage.  He has brought a variety of comedy farces and poignant dramas here, including ‘The Kaiser and I’, ‘Find The Lady’, ‘Holmes & Watson: The Farewell Tour’, ‘The Last Post & On Scarborough Front’, ‘Twice Nightly’ and ‘Up Frankie’.  Dominic was the resident pantomime dame at the Georgian Theatre Royal from 2010-2012, and has worked extensively as an actor and director on tours in the north of England and Scotland, and for BBC Radio 4.

Dominic is returning to The Swallow Theatre at the beginning of December with a personal selection of favourite comedy sketches from shows he has brought here in the past, plus some songs and festive treats, in an evening that would make even Ebenezer Scrooge laugh out loud!

Dominic will be joined by chums, both professional and amateur, in what promises to be a most enjoyable night of lighthearted and good-humoured entertainment.

We are very grateful to Dominic and friends for donating their time for this fundraising event in aid of The Swallow Theatre.
